As part of our ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility efforts to enhance the international airport landscape, we introduced a smart Portal Cabin, a thoughtful initiative dedicated to supporting military officers stationed at the checkpoint.
These officers work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of all travelers, often standing guard under challenging weather conditions, from heavy rains to scorching heat. During our visits, we witnessed the realities of their daily routine and saw the need for a more comfortable and functional shelter that could ease some of their burdens.
This inspired the creation of the smart Portal Cabin, a movable, containerized station designed to provide comfort, security, and a conducive working environment all year round. The exterior is built to last, with a cemented floor, a clean grey finish, and a waterproof roof made from felt and aluminium sheets to withstand Nigeria’s unpredictable weather.
Better working environment
On the interior, the cabin is equipped with all the essentials for the officer’s daily comfort and convenience, including a water dispenser, fridge, microwave, air conditioning, chairs, a smart television, a secure armoury, and a standard bed. Every element was carefully crafted by our team and designed to give the officers a space that truly supports them through their long shifts.
Measuring 2.4 metres by 6 metres, the Portal Cabin offers a “home away from home” for the dedicated military officers, providing them with a place to rest, recharge, and continue their vital role in safeguarding the airport and its passengers.
This project reflects our deep respect for their service and our commitment to creating better working environments for those who protect us every day.
